Nyree Troughton
She/Her
Hello, I’m Nyree or Ny, aka Hi It’s Ny! I am a collage artist originally from a small island called North Uist in the Outer Hebrides, now living and working in Edinburgh. I have always loved magazines and used to cover my bedroom walls with ripped out pages of images I was drawn to. Throughout my time at college and university I really started to explore collage as an artform in itself. My creative style was very much cut and paste and image manipulation is something I find fascinating.

I have since developed my own style of collage (analog mainly) by combining contemporary and vintage imagery to create a unique aesthetic and visual commentary on the world around us.
My work explores feminism, gender roles, contemporary culture and society. I am very interested in ideas surrounding the female and male gaze, and my collages are playful experiments in image manipulation inspired by the above themes.
