Sarah Phelan is an interdisciplinary artist who uses outdated print and fax technologies to explore notions of the abstracted archive, and question what we really mean when we talk about modernising and digitising the archive. Her work sets out to discover alternative ways of archiving forms, producing a public fax forum that asks viewers to add to by contributing photos and materials via the dual send-and-receive fax functions, and in doing so help create a new archive of public imagery.
