My name is Leah Moodie and I'm an Orcadian artist who is now based in Glasgow after graduating with a degree in painting from the Edinburgh College of Art last year. 

Inspired by horror movies and my homesickness anxieties, atmospheres within domestic spaces fascinates me. Through my work I play with the tipping point from feeling comfortable in a space to uncomfortable. To explore this, I combine the uncanny with the everyday, creating imagined interiors and quiet dramas within my paintings. I want to make the viewer feel like they are recalling a hazy memory that is more like a dream; to trigger a nostalgic feeling of familiarity for these loose narratives which they have never experienced.

I marry the domestic theme to my work by painting on hazy, semi-transparent PVC shower curtains. Onto which, I layer an ever-expanding variety of mixed media; oil paint, silicone, varnishes, enamels, and a variety of household paints.
