Who the cluck are we?

The Hen Collective are a femme-led art collective based in Edinburgh who provide free, safe, exhibition opportunities to up-coming women and non-binary artists, working within any medium, in the local area.
We aim to make art more conceptually accessible by allowing each artist the platform to fully express the themes in which they explore.
Each month we provide a solo show to a different femme, or non-binary artist, with an opening night involving films, interviews, and work stations, in order to create a welcoming environment which invites everyone to enjoy and appreciate Art.
As well as this each month we create an accompanying zine for the exhibiting artist, which also features artwork from two different artists working within the same themes in order to broaden our understanding of the ideas each Artist is working within.
The art world can often be intimidating due to the cold formality it aims to exude. We hope to replace this aloofness and replace it with a fun, warm, and welcoming approach to celebrating femme and non-binary Art and Artists.
It is important to us that art is conceptually, physically, and financially accessible to the masses, and whilst we're at it we might as well have some fun!

Megan Davies
Hello! I’m Megan, a student studying Fine Art in Edinburgh! Memory forms the basis of my practice, painting directly from childhood videos/photos to create work that is vibrant and intuitive. I absolutely love going for a coffee and playing board games!
Strengths: my love for cows, making a mean mojito and being the DJ at every event
Weaknesses: finishing a book before getting bored and my inability to whistle
Ana
Geissler
Hiya, I'm Ana a third culture artist living in Edinburgh. If you're looking for haunting animals in post-humanist landscapes, then I'm your gal. I'm not very consistent with keeping up hobbies, but am always keen on plants!
Strengths: Can keep some plants alive

Weaknesses: Wet feet, especially with socks on, can't hack that ish.

Tiree
Taylor

Strengths: knows all the words to ‘Park Life’, Makes mental mashed potatoes
Weaknesses: A wee bit emotional, crisps
Eva Magdić Govedarica
Hello, I'm Eva a Croatian film student currently studying at Edinburgh Napier University with a particular obsession for experimental filmmaking. I have a need to archive the spontaneity of life and explore the beauty in the mundane through the reflections, distortions and geometry around me. Film stuff aside, I'm a devoted baker and a pizza maker, a zine lover and a poetry nerd.
Strengths: Able to fit my life in two boxes, crafty and most importantly, I can recite the entirety of Lord of the rings trilogy off by heart.
Weaknesses: Tone deaf, complete inability to multi-task

Agnes
Roberts
I'm an Art Student based in Edinburgh, a lot of my art is focused upon nature and folklore combined with the restless desire to replicate the feeling of a moment lost to memory. I love trips to the seaside, watching Eurovision and listening cheesy indie-pop music.
Strengths: Extreme enthusiasm, ability to make everyone else look brilliant at dancing.

Weaknesses: Knocks over every object in immediate vicinity, Slugs
